Valentines Project

Caelyn’s teacher likes to assign them projects that they will need help from their parents to do. Caelyn and I have a blast making them. I usually try to let Caelyn come up with the basic idea and then help her think of ways that we could do it.

This project was to make a box so that her classmates could deliver her valentines cards. As we were talking about what she wanted to do. Ryan said in passing that she should make a castle. Caelyn loved the idea. The idea kind of evolved from there.

About half way though Cae decided that she wanted a working door on the castle so she could pull the Valentines out. I explained that she could just turn it over and dump the cards out but she didn’t like that idea. So came the working drawbridge door.

Caelyn and Eli both helped cut out the hearts using a die cutter I use for scrapbooking. Eli didn’t help as much as he “helped” But Caelyn was very patient with him and was trying to show him how to do it. She is such a great big sister!

Caelyn ended up being sick and missing the Valentines party at school. But the teachers’ aid for her class lives two doors down and brought her valentines home for her.
