Caelyn had a project to finish before school started about what she liked and liked to do. We had done most of it Thursday but we were waiting for the moves to bring our printer so that we could print off some pictures to complete it. Among her likes were pictures of her family, swimming, her brother, princesses, stickers, Disney World, and flowers.
I had thought that the Open House was at 10:30. I just happened to pick up the flyer for the open house at 9:45 and saw that the open house was actually at 10:00. We finished glueing the pictures on the poster. I spelled the words for Caelyn to write as I was getting Eli dresses (he was still eating breakfast). We still managed to get to the school by 10:05.
Caelyn got to meet her teachers again. She learned where her cubby for her jacket and back pack was. Found her desk. Turned in her first ever project. Then her teacher’s aide took her and her new friends out to the play ground while her teachers went over some things with the parents. Caelyn is now very excited to start school. She starts Sept 7th. She enjoyed meeting some of her classmates and she is more comfortable with the thought of going to school.
I’m going to have to find some new things to keep Mr. Eli busy while Caelyn is at school. I think that he is going to have a hard time with Caelyn being gone at school all day. There is story time at the library for toddlers and a couple of other things that I think he would really enjoy.
After the open house we came home for a quick lunch and nap and then went to Graf. Caelyn wanted to buy a birthday card for someone and we needed to get her a new lunch box because hers hadn’t been located.
While we were at the PX in Graf there was a Kiosk with German cookie cutters and cook books. We bought a Bavarian (the state of Germany that we live in) Cookbook and a cookie cutter rolling pin. You roll the rolling pin over the cookie dough and it forms the intricate shapes onto the cookies and a rotary cutter to cut them. Looking forward to being able to try some German recipes and cookies.
Boxes are still sitting as we continue to enjoy the weekend. Tomorrow Sleeping Beauty’s Castle… well at least the castle that Sleeping Beauty’s castle was formed after.
