They asked just the basic questions: likes, dislikes, medical problems, questions about what she had learned so far. Caelyn impressed her teachers by being able to write words. He wrote her name, Eli’s name, mom and cat. She was using her magnetic erase board. She then started copying different words around the house. She turned the DVD player on and copied “Hello” from the display screen.
Eli didn’t want to be left out. He grabbed his magnetic erase board and started “writing” stuff to show the teachers. They teachers loved his work (scribbles). After he got tired of showing the teachers his “work” he went and got the keyboard and put it on one of the preprogrammed songs and put on a show for them.
After they left the movers were there with in ½ hour. They were awesome. They did take a lot of breaks but they were very helpful. Still not completely unpacked but so far two bookcases, my scrapbook cabinet, dvd cabinet, lamp shade, one picture frame and the mop bucket did not survive. Everything is supposed to be insured. We will need to submit a claim to the Army once we finish unpacking and make sure that nothing else is damaged.
So incredibly nice to have our beds back! My back is loving it! Things seem much more normal then they have been. Eli’s air mattress was going to be trashed because the fabric top had stains from a one year old kiddos. So Ryan decided to take out his frustration on the air mattress since it couldn’t be saved or washed.
Eli loves his new big boy bed. We had bought new Buzz Lightyear sheets prior to leaving the states for his “big boy bed”. He loves it. Also took care of his bottle addiction. The first night he asked for a bottle as he was going to bed. I told him that no bottles were allowed in his big boy bed and that Buzz didn’t like bottles. As soon as I said it I was hoping that it wouldn’t back fire and he wouldn’t rip all of the Buzz stuff off of his bed. Luckly, he didn’t. He just like of looked at me like “ok” and climbed into his new big boy bed.
Caelyn also loves having her bed back. I felt so bad. Her air mattress popped one of its middle seams last week so there was a huge bubble in the middle of the mattress. She had been laying in the middle using the bubble as a pillow.
They kids have been great though all of the chaos of the last year. They are great at adapting to whatever gets thrown at them.
Choosing to let most of the boxes sit for a few more days and enjoying Ryan’s four day weekend that he has off.
